Required Documents
To renew your Brazilian passport while living in the USA, there are some essential documents you should have on hand. The required documents vary according to your age, so we will detail both cases below:
General Documents:
- Birth Certificate (original Brazilian Birth Certificate)
- Old passport (in case of renewal)
- 2x2 photo (standard passport photo)
For Minors Under 18 Years:
- Valid passport of the parents
- Child's and parents' CPF
- Proof of address of one of the parents (or both, if living together)
For Individuals Over 18 Years Old:
- Regular CPF: If your CPF is irregular, we can help you regularize it.
- Regular Voter Registration: We offer services to assist with this process, if needed.
- Proof of address from the last month.
- Military Service Certificate: Required if you are a man over 18 years old.
Important note: If you do not have your old passport or another Brazilian photo ID (such as RG or CNH), you will need to appear in person at the consulate accompanied by two witnesses with valid Brazilian passports.
Fees You Need to Pay
To complete the renewal of your passport, it will be necessary to pay a fee based on your age. These payments are made through a USPS money order, but we handle this step for our clients as part of our service.
- Under 4 years old: $40
- Between 4 and 17 years old: $80
- Over 18 years old: $120
But you don’t need to worry about these amounts; our team takes care of the entire process, including the purchase and completion of the money orders as part of the application.
